Jennifer CharlesThe FashionistaJennifer Charles is a trend-setting event designer and co-founder of Something Fabulous. Since the 7th grade, Jennifer had dreamed of becoming a fashion designer and living in New York City. It was no wonder that, after high school, she left the Midwest to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in lower Manhattan's fashion district. During her studies at FIT, Jennifer had the opportunity to work at ABC's Good Morning America and NBC's Today Show. The experience opened her eyes to a whole new industry. After flirting with the idea of fashion design and merchandising, she completed her degree in Advertising and Communications. With a new taste for television, Jennifer returned home to attend Wayne State University and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in radio television and film. Jennifer’s degree and experience in television led her to Miami, where she worked on music videos, commercials, and film projects, until a phone call from Kimberly presented her with the opportunity to work with her sister in event management and production. After her first event, Jennifer was hooked and, today, she couldn’t imagine doing anything else – her passions for fashion and production are perfectly combined in this one dream job. Among other things, she is inspired by fashion and draws on her experience in TV and film production to create exceptional, stylish experiences. Her enthusiasm and eye for the latest trends contribute to Jennifer’s role as lead designer and style-maker at Something Fabulous. |

Kimberly AllenThe Gypsy“If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.” Kimberly's Grandma Theresa was the teacher of these words and they remain Kimberly’s motto. Kimberly Allen is the operations/production visionary and co-founder of Something Fabulous. As a child she loved taking things apart and putting them back together and today logistics is her forte and passion. In 1989, Kimberly began her career in the theatre, specializing in lighting design and technical production. She spent eight years touring with productions such as Big Apple Circus in New York City and Feld Entertainment. Producer of Disney on Ice, Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Baily Circus. As much as she loves the road, love of family brought her back to Michigan. In 1998 she joined George P Johnson Company and spent her years there working as part of the Trade Show Team. A move to COBO Center and GES Exposition Services gave Kimberly a taste of the bigger trade show picture. When GES left Detroit in 2002, Kimberly joined sister Jennifer Charles to focus their talents and experiences on something of their own. She has never looked back. Sara ArmourThe Cookie MonsterAfter graduating from the University of Michigan in 2002, Sara Armour began her career at a small marketing and custom publishing company where she provided customer service for clients like Ford, RadioShack and The American Dental Association. From there, Sara went on to work at a local advertising agency where she coordinated production of television, radio and direct mail campaigns for several furniture retailers around the country. Eventually, she decided the corporate life was not for her and left shortly before she married in the summer of 2008. Sara came across an ad for Something Fabulous a couple months later, and after several interviews, she found herself working in the boutique - helping customers with their stationery and invitation orders and assisting the team at events. So it's really always been about clients and customer service. Sara is currently the Manager of IDEAS by Something Fabulous in Rochester, Michigan. She focuses on stationery and invitation orders and also helps produce events in the Metro Detroit area. Sara lives in Royal Oak with her husband, Patrick, enjoys traveling and loves baking & all things sweet...ice cream, cake, candy, brownies, and of course cookies! |
